'Natyakala Tapaswini' award for Vyjayanthimala Bali

Mangalore, Nov 7, DHNS

The city based Sridevi Nrithya Kendra will confer ‘Natyakala Tapaswini’ award on renowned dancer Dr Vyjayanthimala Bali at the ‘Nrityotsava-2009’ to be held at the Town Hall here on November 9 at 6.15 pm.

 Addressing a press meet here on Friday, Dakshina Kannada District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said that the award instituted by the Sri Ramakrishna Alva Memorial Trust will be distributed in memory of dance guru Padmashree Late K N Dandayudhapani Pillai.

Students of Sridevi Nrithya Kendra will present ‘Chitrambala Kuravanji,’ a dance ballet composed by late K N Dandayudhapani Pillai and choreographed by guru Jayalakshmi Alva on the occasion, Kalkura added.

Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple Priest Sri Lakshminarayana Asranna will bless the occasion while Karnataka Bank non-executive Chairman Ananthakrishna will preside over the function.

Office bearers of  Sridevi Nrithya Kendra Dr Arathi H Shetty and Harish Shetty were present at the press meet.
