'It's good to be working in a Telugu film'

Nina C George

No regrets

Ravishing: Raveena Tandon
The mast mast girl has moved on. Raveena Tandon is one of those actresses who takes her family life just as seriously as she takes her career. Having signed a Telugu film after a long time, Raveena reiterates that she’s not in the rat race and had always wanted to take off from where she left.

She reasons that she prefers to do more meaningful roles that are strong in characterisation and content. “I work on only one project at a time. There are a couple of projects that I have had to let go but I have no regrets about it. My children are my priority,” Raveena tells Metrolife.

Raveena has a lot of people telling her that she looks more beautiful now than ever before. A mother of two, Raveena attributes her good looks and fit physique to the right work out regimen and healthy food habits. “I think the more weight I lose, the better I feel. I make sure that I never overdo my workouts,” she reasons.

Her latest project in Telugu is with veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu and it’s a multi-starrer. “It’s good to be working in a Telugu film, especially with Mohan sir and Vishnu Manchu. I think Vishnu is a really talented actor. There’s never a dull moment on the shooting sets,” she reasons.

Raveena’s last release was Shobhana 7 Nights, where she was seen as an ultra glamourous society woman. “It had a strong subject and was shown at several film festivals but I am not sure if it will have a commercial release,” she adds.

When asked if Raveena would do an ‘item number’, she reasons, “If I move for a song, how can it be termed as an item number?”

“I’ve done a song for my Telugu film and received much appreciation but I don’t think there needs to be too much noise made about it. I enjoyed working for the song,” she says.

Raveena has been a judge for shows like Chhote Miyan, Comedy Ka Mahamuqqabla and Chak De Bachche but she says that her chat show Isi Ka Naam Zindagi, where she interviews celebrities, did exceptionally well. “I was approached to do a second season of the chat show. But that hasn’t been finalised,” she states.

Ask her from where she gets all the positive energy from and Raveena doesn’t think twice before saying that it is the uncompromising love and support from her family. “It’s important to share a very healthy and happy relationship with your spouse. My husband is not only my best friend but a great moral support as well,” she wraps up.
