HC seeks details of borewells in City

The High Court of Karnataka on Monday directed the State government to furnish details in a day on the status of borewells in the City.

The Division Bench comprising Chief Justice D H Waghela and Justice B V Nagarathna sought the information while hearing a suo motu petition following newspaper reports.
The Court sought details regarding the number of borewells (including the contaminated ones), their locations in the City and test personnel. The Bench also directed the government to furnish details of water suppliers to areas, with contaminated ground water.
