<p>Durga Shakti Nagpal, the IAS officer who was suspended last month by the Uttar Pradesh government allegedly for taking on the sand mafia in Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida) district, has filed her reply to the charge sheet claiming innocence. <br /><br /></p>.<p>According to sources here, the officer submitted her reply on Friday evening.<br /><br />In her reply, the sources said Durga had claimed that she had acted as per laid-down procedures and was not at fault. She has also sought the revocation of her suspension.<br />The government had suspended her for demolishing the walls of a mosque being constructed illegally on government land in the district.<br /><br />Ignoring pleas from different quarters to reinstate the official, the government served her a charge sheet seeking her reply within a fortnight. <br /><br />The charge sheet did not provide the basis on which the IAS officer was suspended and did not mention a probe report. <br /><br />The bureaucratic circle here feels that the government may ultimately revoke her suspension, citing reports from the local intelligence unit (LIU) and the district magistrate of GB Nagar. The LIU report revealed that Durga Nagpal was not even present when the incident had taken place. The district magistrate’s report said the wall of the mosque had been demolished by the villagers.</p>
