Girl raped by father, younger brother for nine years

Lucknow, Sep 5, 2013, (PTI) :

A 25-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father and younger brother for over nine years with the tacit consent of her mother in the Krishna Nagar locality here, police said.

The stunning allegation was made straight to none other than Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav by the victim at his "Janta Darshan" programme yesterday.

The girl, a beautician, was thereafter sent to a women's police station where a report was registered and the father (about 57 years old) and brother (23) subsequently arrested, police said.


The mother of the victim was also arrested under Section 120B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC for giving her tacit consent to the alleged crime, they said.

The girl alleged that she was being raped since she turned 16 and her mother was aware of it, they said.

The girl was also forced to go in for several abortions over the period of her abuse, police said, adding that she was threatened against opening her mouth about it to anybody.
Meanwhile, the accused father has confessed to his crime, saying that an occultist had told him that the rape would bring him prosperity, they said.
