CM scouts for investors in China

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah invited Israel, Malta and Finland to participate in the Global Investors Meet (GIM) to be held in Bangalore in 2014, at the World Economic Forum meeting in Dalian, China on Thursday.

Speaking to the prime ministers of Malta and Finland, Siddaramaiah expressed the State’s willingness to have trade ties with the two countries. The prime minister of Malta Joseph Muscat accepted the invitation.

The Karnataka delegation also invited the organisers of WEF to conduct events in Bangalore. The chief minister held discussions with Klaus Schwab, executive chairman of WEF. He also had one-on-one meetings with representatives of leading global companies.

Apart from leading firms like Qi group, ACCIONA, Haohe Engineering and Construction Co. Ltd, Siddaramaiah had discussions with Israeli minister for economy and research and development, Avi Hasson. Siddaramaiah invited Israel to participate in GIM as a partner country. The Karnataka government also held a road show at Hotel Kempinski in Dalian.

A government press release claimed that more than 150 leading investors/entrepreneurs of Dalian participated in the event. Various investment opportunities available in sectors like IT/BT, aerospace, manufacturing, food processing and tourism were highlighted and invitations were extended to them to invest in the State.
