BPO staffer killed as bike rams bulldozer

A call centre employee was killed when his motorcycle collided head-on with a bulldozer near Channasandra here on Wednesday night, police said.

Prashanth, 22, a resident of JP Nagar 7th Phase, had turned left at Channasandra Cross on Uttarahahalli Main Road to enter a cross road when the accident occurred around 9 pm. He collapsed and was hit by the bulldozer’s teeth, police explained. He was rushed to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead. His cousin, Bharath, who was riding pillion, escaped with minor injuries. The bulldozer’s driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot, police added.

The victim was on his way home after visiting a relative. He was helping his uncle in a housewarming ceremony scheduled for Thursday.

Men found dead

Two men were found dead in the City on Thursday morning.

A middle-aged man was found dead in a gutter near Dairy Circle. Sampangirama Reddy, 55, a resident of Ayyappa Nagar, Madiwala, might have slipped into the gutter when it rained heavily on Wednesday night, police suspected.

An employee of the Rail Wheel Factory, Yelahanka, Reddy had boarded a bus to Dairy Circle from the factory. He was to catch another bus for home at the Dairy Circle, police said. The body was noticed by passersby who alerted the police. Mico Layout police have registered a case of unnatural death. Police have ruled out foul play.

In another incident, the highly decomposed body of an unidentified man was found floating in Basavanapura Lake in KR Puram. KR Puram police are trying to establish the man’s identity.
