Heavy rainfall in Ch'nagar: Normal life out of gear

Chamarajanagar, Sept 14, 2013, DHNS :

The district received heavy rainfall throwing normal life of residents out of gear, here, on Saturday.

Residents, especially farmers were worried about the flooding  that could hamper their sowing activities.

The turmeric crop is in threat of being diseased due to the excess moisture content, as the rain water has stagnated in the fields. The city of Chamarajanagar also witnessed flooding in low lying areas.

Roads

Most of the roads were filled with the rain water making it tough for two-wheeler riders as well as pedestrians to commute. The rain water gushed into the houses in Railway layout, Chennipuramole, Kola Street, Santemaralli Circle, Mudalamole, Jalahalli Gundi, Ramasamudra and others.

Many of the drought hit regions also received a copious rainfall.
