JOIN USBJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi met “sulking” leader L K Advani here on Sunday night in a bid to reach out to his one-time mentor.
The two leaders were seen having tête-à-tête at the residence of noted lawyer Ram Jethmalani, who celebrated his 90th birthday on Saturday. A number of Jethmalani’s well-wishers had reached his residence on Sunday to greet him on the occasion.
This was the second meeting between the duo after Modi was named BJP’s prime ministerial candidate on Friday in spite of strong reservations expressed by Advani.
After the formal announcement, Modi had had a brief meeting with Advani to seek his blessings for the new assignment. Advani had shot off a letter to party president Rajnath Singh minutes after Modi’s elevation as BJP’s poll panel chief to express his disappointment over Singh’s style of functioning.
