The two were honoured at the fest Wednesday evening. Kapoor has produced hits like "Mr. India", "Company", "No Entry" and the recent "Wanted" among others.
Multiple National Award winning filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan has to his credit movies like "Naalu Pennungal", "Swayamvaram", "Kodiyettam", "Mathilukal", "Vidheyan" and "Kathapurushan".
Kapoor's actress-wife Sridevi and brother-in-law Sandeep Marwah were also honoured for their contribution to cinema and media at the gala event.
"I have realised that our honest and hard work will never go waste. I am excited with this world recognition at Cairo for us and for the country," Marwah said over telephone from Cairo.
Marwah is the founder and president of Asian Academy of Film and TV (AAFT) in Noida and has produced many short films.
