Star SC eke out thrilling win over Spartons SC

Hanumantharaju shone for Star Sports Club, Nelamangala as they registered a thrilling 34-run win over Spartons Sports Club in the KSCA Group I, Division IV tournament for the Metro Shield.

Batting first Star SC were bundled out for 136 in 37.5 overs as Spartons’ Sanjay Srivasav (4/4) and Suresh Shinde (3/25) wreaked havoc. In response, barring Yogesh Gowda (52), Spartons’ batsmen did not fare too well as Hanumantharaju bagged five wickets and Madhu plucked two to help Star SC bowl them out for 102 in 25.1 overs.

Brief scores: Star Sports Club, Nelamangala: 136 all out in 37.5 overs (Srikanth KC 31; Ratheesh 2-30, Suresh Shinde 3-25, Sanjay Srivasav 4-4) bt Spartons Sports Club: 102 all out in 25.1 overs (Yogesh Gowda 52; LN Gowda 2-36, Hanumantharaju 5-15, Madhu 2-22).
Jaihind CC: 207 all out in 48.1 overs (Sarvanan 72, Deepak 28; Mahesh 2-23, Kiran HB 3-59) lt to Visweswarapuram Cricket Club (1): 210/3 in 30.3 overs (Ankit 32, Deepak Ugrappa 84 n.o.; Manjunath 2-38).

BEL Colony Recreation Club: 272/7 in 50 overs (Suresh Babu 38, Rajiva Lochan 64, Shane Angelo 42, Harsha S 32 n.o.; Pandu 3-28, Yogesh 2-37) bt Vivekanagar Cricketers: 175 all out in 42 overs (Lokesh Maran 35, Venkatesh 27, Parmananda 33; BK Kiran 2-48, Rajesh 4-43, Beerappa 2-34). Minerva Cricket Club: 193 all out in 41.1 overs (Vineet Ashok 96; Kashif 4-45, Ibrez 2-28, Zafar 2-11) bt Oriental Cricket Club: 165 all out in 22.5 overs (Kashif 72; Vineet Ashok 4-46, Janardhan 3-32, Nagaraj 3-37).

Jayanagar Cricketers: 59 all out in 23.3 overs (Verendra Singh 33; Nandan 2-25, Joseph 4-15, Vinay 4-11) lt to Visweswarampuram Cricket Club (2): 60/1 in 13.4 overs.
