Bloated body found in Cubbon Park pond

The bloated body of an unidentified man was found floating in a small artificial pond at Bal Bhavan in Cubbon Park here on Thursday afternoon.

The staff at Bal Bhavan called the police after spotting the body. According to police, Bal Bhavan conducts boating in the pond, which is about 10 feet deep. The man, who is suspected to have drowned, was half naked. His age is estimated to be 30-32 years.

A senior police officer said that from the condition of the body, it was clear that the man drowned at least three days ago. The body came to the surface of water on Thursday. Police have ruled out foul play, saying there were no external injuries on the body.
