Priyanka is 'driver' in Amethi
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday took charge of the wheel and drove her brother Rahul when the duo arrived in Amethi Lok Sabha constituency in the morning to make an assessment of various developmental projects.
Clad in a green sari, Priyanka occupied the driver’s seat while Rahul sat beside her after they landed at the Fursatganj airport in Raebareli district.
Both of them kept away from the media as they visited Hargavan village in Gauriganj assembly segment and met women workers of self help groups, according to UP Congress spokesman Akhilesh Pratap Singh here.
Rahul left for New Delhi in the evening but Priyanka is likely to stay in the constituency for another day, party sources said.
Priyanka was the in-charge of the Amethi and Raebareli Lok Sabha constituencies as both Rahul and Sonia Gandhi were busy campaigning for the party in other parts of the country. In the past also Priyanka had once travelled in a cycle rickshaw with a child in Amethi.
