Last Updated 24 November 2013, 20:16 IST

A 14-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train at Deepanjalinagar late on Saturday night.

The victim was identified as Kishore, a resident of Bapujinagar 5th cross. He was a class nine student of A S English Medium School.

His parents Venkatachalam and Sunita hail from Andhra Pradesh. Venkatachalam is an employee of Vysya Bank. A few local residents noticed the boy’s body lying near the tracks and alerted the police.

Venkatachalam told the police that his son went out of the house at five pm on Saturday, but did not return. The family started searching for him, but in vain. Kishore was irregular to tuition classes and was scolded for the same. There was no foul play in the incident and Kishore may have taken the extreme step as he was upset over being scolded, he added.

Boy succumbs to injuries

A three-year-old boy, who had sustained severe burn injuries after hot water fell on him, died at Victoria Hospital on Sunday early morning.

Naveen Kumar was the son of Selvi and Muniswamy, natives of Tamil Nadu and residents of Arasu Colony in Jayanagar 9th block. Both Selvi and Muniswamy are labourers.
Apart from Kumar, Selvi, 30, his uncle Vijay, 13, and his one-and-half-year old sister Lavanya too sustained severe injuries. Their condition is said to be critical as they have sustained 50 per cent burn injuries, Tilak Nagar police said.

Muniswamy moved into his neighbour’s house recently, to perform daily religious rituals.
On November 21, Selvi woke up at 5 am and put the water immersion heater into a plastic bucket, full of water. She kept the bucket on a shelf and went to sleep thinking that it might take some time for the water to heat up, police said. However, Selvi went into slumber. Some time later, the container exploded due to excess heat and the boiling water splashed on all the four victims, who were sleeping on the floor. Neighbours, who heard Selvi’s cries, rushed them to the Victoria Hospital.

Girl ends life

A 16-year-old girl allegedly hanged herself at her house in Jalahalli on Sunday morning. Muttamma was the eldest daughter of Perumal and Chellamma, both of whom are labourers and residents of Bahubalinagar.

According to police, the victim’s parents had gone out for work, while her younger sister, Ashwini, had gone out to play with friends. When Ashwini returned home at around 9.30 am, she saw her sister’s body hanging from the roof. She rushed to her mother’s workplace and informed her about the incident.

The couple told police that they did not know what drove their daughter to take the extreme step.
