But how can Delhiites revel the season without adding a touch of fashion? To cater to this need, Dastkar Winter Weaves is back to the Capital with hoards of options for shoppers.

Set up at Nature Bazaar, the festival presented in partnership with Delhi Tourism, brings together some of the exclusive regional handloom weaving, block-print and embroidery traditions from across the country. The focus of the exhibition remains to be silks and wools which are available in a wide range of sarees, dupattas, running fabric, shawls, knits and readymade garments.

In contrast to last year, the tussar silk weaves from Maharashtra, tangail sarees from West Bengal, punja dhurries from Punjab and designed winter jackets and weaves from Bhutan are the new highlights this time. The focus is also on Hansiba Kutch embroidered garment collection designed by Dastkar.

Apart from this, the visitors can also shop for tussar silks from Chhattisgarh and Bihar, ikat weaves from Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, jamdani and Banarasi brocades and bandhini to name a few. Light and multi-hued maheshwari and chanderi cotton-silks are available too.

To wrap around oneself, lovely kullu and kinnauri wool shawls from Himachal Pradesh and pashmina from Kashmir are available alongside a colourful selection of Kutch shawls and stoles woven by expert weavers of Vankar community. There are also knitted sweaters, capes, gloves and socks.

To keep the visitors entertained, there will also be Rajasthan’s Langa Manganiar musical performance and Kalbeliya and Bhawai dance performances on specific days.

After shopping, one can enjoy the mouth-warming temptations such as kebabs, tikkas and biryanis from Frontier Cuisine by Bundu Khan from Pakistan. The homemade spices used in preparing these kebabs enhance the flavour of these traditional dishes which standout among other dishes!
