BJP plans BC, dalit meet

The State BJP is planning a massive backward classes and dalits convention in Chitradurga next month. A meeting to work out modalities of the convention to be attended by various SC/ST and backward classes district presidents, was held in City on Monday.

“We expect a turnout of around five lakh. We are planning to hold the convention in Chitradurga on February 23”, said former deputy chief minister K S Eshwarappa. BJP has chosen Chitradurga as the location as the district ia at the centre of the State. 

Eshwarappa said the party will decide on the national leaders who should address the convention on the sidelines of the party’s national council and executive meetings in New Delhi commencing on January 17.
