Last Updated 20 January 2014, 20:34 IST

Members of different auto drivers’ unions, under the aegis of the Autorickshaw Driver Organisations’ United Struggle Committee, on Monday started a four-day dharna against the non-fulfilment of their demands by the government. The protest will continue till January 24.

On January 25, the auto drivers will take out a rally to the Raj Bhavan.

Rudramurthy, president of the Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union, said, “We demand that the government roll back VAT on auto LPG as the LPG price  has increased manifold in the last two years.” Every day, 100 to 150 auto drivers will sit in a dharna near the Mahatma Gandhi Statue on MG Road. “The government officials have been assuring us that our demands will be looked into, but so far no,” he said.
