Muslim leaders of the State Congress, including C K Jaffer Sharief, Rahman Khan and C M Ibrahim are planning to hold a meeting on Wednesday to mount pressure on the party for adequate representation to the community in the coming Lok Sabha polls.

The leaders will urge the party to field Muslim leaders from at least four parliamentary constituencies of Haveri, Bangalore Central, Bidar and Belgaum. Besides, the leaders want to request Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to give proper representation to the community leaders while nominating heads to various boards and corporations and members to various committees. The party may not give ticket to Jaffer Sharief citing his age. Youth Congress president Rizwan Arshad, H T Sangliana and J Alexander are other names recommended by the KPCC election committee, said sources.
