Youth done to death by relatives
Bangalore, Dec 1, DHNS:

A 23-year-old youth was stabbed to death allegedly by his relatives over a property dispute in Kumaraswamy Layout on Tuesday evening, the police said.

The car of Venu alias Venugopal, a resident of Ramakrishna Nagar, was intercepted at Ilyas Nagar and he was assaulted with knives and machetes around 8 pm. He died on the spot.

The police said that his cousins were after him with regard to a property dispute. The body has been kept at the Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences.

Woman held for murder

A woman has been arrested by the police in Kanakapura, for allegedly murdering a child, a month ago. Kusuma (35), wife of Umapathi, residing behind tiles factory in town police station limits, had at the first instance claimed that a child came to her house a month ago and accidentally fell into the water drum and died.

Scared that she would be questioned over the death of the child, Kusuma hid the body under the dewan.  At night when there was a power shutdown, she moved the body upstairs and took care to see that the foul smell did not spread. The next day afternoon when there was not much movement of people, she dumped the body in a vacant site.

The police booked a murder case and pressed dog squad into service.  The dog identified Kusuma’s house and when the police inspected the room they found clues. They took both  Kusuma and her husband into custody. During interrogation Kusuma confessed that she had killed Kavyashree.
