Angry Pathak to take final call soon

Last Updated 23 March 2014, 20:05 IST

Upset over being denied a Lok Sabha ticket, Harin Pathak is still not sure of quitting the BJP yet. Indicating that a decision would be taken after three days, Pathak said he would talk to his supporters first.

At a press meet on Sunday, Pathak said he was “hurt” by the “party affairs” in the recent months. The BJP on Saturday night announced the names of the remaining five candidates for the 26 Lok sabha seats in Gujarat and gave ticket to actor Paresh Rawal to contest from the Ahmedabad east constituency. Pathak, a known Advani man in the party, has been contesting from the constituency and winning since 1991.

Interestingly, the name of Gujarat chief minister, Narendra Modi himself was doing the round for this constituency and Pathak had openly stated that he was willing to give up his seat in favour of the BJP prime ministerial candidate.
