<p>Oscar-winning actress Penelope Cruz says she was terrified of singing while shooting for her new movie 'Nine' as she tried it for the first time.<br /><br />Speaking on the red carpet at the London premiere of the musical movie in Leicester Square, the 35-year-old Spanish beauty admitted that her singing was a bit rusty because she hadn't done it in public for years, Femalefirst reported.<br /><br />"Singing was terrifying because it was new and because it was my first time. It was like doing theatre, but I only did theatre as a student in Spain," Cruz said.<br /><br />'Nine' is one of the most anticipated movies this year and boasts of a large star cast that includes Daniel Day-Lewis, Judi Dench, Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, and Sophia Loren, among others.<br /><br />In the movie, Cruz plays a seductress Carla Albanese, who tries to charm Daniel Day-Lewis' character, director Guido Contini, in the film. She was all praise for the costume designer of which accentuated her character.<br /><br />"The woman who designed the costumes for every one of us, I think she really must be one of the most amazing artists," Cruz said.</p>
