JOIN USThe State government has referred to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) a complaint against S R Hiremath of Samaj Parivarthan Samudaya (SPS) on the alleged misuse of foreign funds, Home Minister K J George said on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters, he said senior Congress MLA Ramesh Kumar had complained that the SPS misused a huge sum of foreign funds and urged the State government to order a probe into the allegation. The government has referred the complaint to the ED to take appropriate action, he added.
Ramesh Kumar, who was upset with Hiremath for alleging that he had encroached upon a piece of forest land, had taken serious exception to Hiremath in the State Legislative Assembly. He had also submitted a set of documents to Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa, alleging that Hiremath had misused foreign funds and demanded a probe.
