The Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences launched six mobile dental vans on Wednesday.

These mobile vans aim to enhance oral health services to underprivileged people especially in the rural areas. This is a first-of-its-kind initiative.

While speaking at the launch, Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung mentioned the importance of oral health in improving citizens’ lives.

The dental health awareness programme will target special groups like children, geriatrics and pregnant women.

Two mobile dental clinics and four IEC dental vans will launch awareness programmes in north-east Delhi.

The services provided will include emergency care, preventive care, routine curative care, and necessary referral. Dental surgeons, hygienists and other support staff have been recruited for this.
