EC orders repolling in two TN polling stations on May 8
According to state Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar, repoll in a polling station in Salem North Assembly segment in Salem and another booth in Tiruchengodu in Namakkal Lok Sabha constituencies has been necessitated after a 'factory mode' error was detected in the EVMs at the end of poll on April 24.
"For the re-poll, new EVMs would be used in the two polling stations and indelible ink would be applied in the left middle finger of the voters," he said in a statement.
"Those who did not vote on April 24 can also vote, provided their names are in the electoral roll of the polling station," he said.
During the polling on April 24 for the 39 seats in Tamil Nadu, a total of 73.67 per cent of the voters had exercised their franchise.
