HDK meets Azad over govt formation in State
In an attempt to form a government in alliance with the Congress following dissident activity in the ruling BJP in Karnataka, Janata Dal (S) state president H D Kumaraswamy on Tuesday met AICC general secretary and Karnataka in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad and senior leader Oscar Fernandes here.
Kumaraswamy, whose party formed an alliance with the Congress to contest the coming Legislative Council poll in Karnataka, was learnt to have received a message of “wait and watch” till the crisis in Andhra Pradesh was over.
“As the party high command is occupied with Andhra developments, it will take a call from the Janata Dal(S) only after December 21, after the completion of the session,” a senior leader said.
It was learnt that though Kumaraswamy had sought the appointment with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, the latter’s office informed him to wait till next week.
