Bharti Airtel looks at SAARC region for buyouts
New Delhi, Dec 16 (PTI)
Bharti Airtel said on Wednesday it is looking at acquisitions in the SAARC region, especially in Bangladesh.
"We have always said that we are interested in the SAARC region... we have been interested in Bangladesh and the SAARC region," Bharti Enterprises Deputy Group CEO and MD Akhil Gupta told reporters.
The eight-member SAARC region includes Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
Gupta also hoped that the 3G auction would take place on time.
The much-awaited 3G spectrum auction is scheduled to begin on January 14.
