Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan is hosting a Kannada play Maryade Prashne, directed by Surendranath on June 27, 7.30 pm and June 28 and 29, 3.30 pm and 7.30 pm at Ranga Shankara. It is adapted from Lutz Hübner’s play ‘Respect’.

The English translation of the play is by theatre director Surendranath and it is performed by a hand-picked cast of Bangaloreans. Maryade Prashne deals with urban rage among youth and highlights complex urban-rural dynamics through serious youth-related issues.

Lutz Hübner is one of the most important playwrights of modern theatre writing on concerns of the youth. During his stay in Bangalore, Hübner participated in rehearsals for Maryade Prashne, giving the director and young cast valuable tips from the perspective of a playwright.

Hübner’s plays have been translated into several languages but this is the first time ever that one has been translated and will be performed in Kannada.  Tickets are available on bookmyshow.com.
