Retraction of news report regarding Justice Raveendran

In the edition dated July 5, 2014, a report titled ''High Court unseats judge Raveendran as arbitrator'' for overcharging was published with reference to a High Court order dated July 4, 2014 in a case pertaining to appointment of arbitrator between Deepak Cables India  Limited (DCIL) and Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Company (CESC).

However, this was misrepresentation of the facts that came up before the High Court as we were misled by the respondent's advocate in this regard.

We therefore published correct facts about the order dated  July 4, 2014 in the issue dated  July 7, 2014, which show allegations about Justice Raveendran overcharging is without basis.

We, being a reputed and responsible newspaper, will never deliberately indulge in any actions which will bring disrepute to the judiciary and judges. We sincerely tender apology to the High Court of Karnataka for misreporting the court order of July 4, 2014 and to Justice Raveendran.
