Jet Airways, Etihad announce special fares

Celebrating its new strategic alliance, Jet Airways and Etihad Airways on Thursday announced a 72-hour special fare sale, giving 20 to 50 per cent discount over regular fares on the combined network of the two airlines across over 135 destinations worldwide. 

Both economy and business class travellers of Jet Airways and Etihad Airways availing this special offer, a statement said.

The 72-hour introductory joint special fare offer will be available from July 25 to July 27 with travel effective from September 1 till June 15, 2015 for flights within India and from September 1 till November 30, 2014 for flights to international destinations.

This offer will be limited for tickets purchased in India and for travel in Business and Economy classes of both the airlines.

Gaurang Shetty, Senior Vice-President (Commercial) of Jet Airways, said, the special offer is a celebration to mark the formalization of the strategic alliance between Etihad Airways and Jet Airways. "Together we offer our guests the choice of an unparalleled global network, and flexibility of schedules and connections," he said.
 
New flights from B’lore 

Spreading its wings to north India, AirAsia India announced on Thursday that it is adding Jaipur and Chandigarh to its destinations from Bangalore this September.
The low-cost airline's debut flight to north India will be on September 5 and it is starting a three-day promotion sale from 12:30 am on Friday. 
 
"Two brand new destinations our Awesome fares = an awesome holiday with AirAsia India! We now fly you from Bangalore to Jaipur and Chandigarh for our very special all-in introductory fare of Rs 1,990 only..." the airline said in a Facebook post.

AirAsia India, a joint venture of Malaysian airline Air Asia Bhd, Tatas and Telstra, started operations on June 12 this year after getting necessary approvals.

AirAsia Bhd is the majority partner with 49 per cent, the maximum a foreign company can invest in an airline in India. The airline now operates flights between Bangalore and Chennai, Bangalore and Kochi and Bangalore and Goa.

AirAsia India is the first start-up airline having Foreign Direct Investment to hit the skies. Tatas have also tied up with Singapore Airlines for a full service and is awaiting regulatory approvals to start operations.

The Tata-SIA is in its way to get Air Operators Permit as the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) recently ruled in its favour against objections raised by rivals.
