Last Updated 30 July 2014, 20:05 IST

Just a few days after his controversial statement on the judiciary in Tamil Nadu, the DMK demanded the removal of Press Council of India (PCI) Chairman Markandey Katju saying a person with continuous outbursts and temperamental behaviour is not fit for holding office.

“The DMK is submitting this representation to bring to your notice the various omissions and commissions of Markandey Katju, which amounts to misconduct and proven misbehaviour and therefore seeking removal from said post,” DMK’s legal wing secretary R S Bharathi said in his letter on behalf of the party.

“Katju has belittled the post due to his continuous outbursts and temperamental behaviour, which is not expected from a person holding the post,” the letter, which was also sent to the Union Ministers of Law and Justice and Information and Broadcasting, said.
