A number of girl students from the school, who were interviewed by the BEO, have reportedly told the official that they did not want the teacher in question to continue.

Arifiulla was sent on a long leave by school authorities when a girl student lodged complaint alleging that the said teacher keeps staring at her.

Meanwhile, the school has submitted a report on the incident and action taken thereon, to the Karnataka State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR).

H R Umesh Aradhaya, Chairperson, KSCPCR said,  “A notice of explantation” was sent by the school where in it said that nothing had happened and that the teacher was sent on leave on “doubts that it (the misconduct) had happened.”

“We have not received the BEO’s report yet, however once we do, we will verify these claims and will conduct an inspection, set up a meeting with parents, conduct a background check and if found guilty will file a case against the teacher,” KSCPCR chairperson added.
