Last Updated 31 July 2014, 20:24 IST

The Telangana government has decided to give its police personnel a makeover through new and improved vehicles, with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao approving two designs for the purpose on Thursday.

Director General of Police Anurag Sharma and his team on Thursday gave a presentation on branding and image building at the Secretariat. The team put forward proposals to the chief minister for vehicle designs that could be procured by the police department.

After eliciting the reactions of those present at the meeting, Rao selected two models of patrol vehicles – one meant for law and order and the other for traffic and highways.

The law and order vehicle is blue with a police logo. The Telangana government proposes to procure 1,650 Innovas besides other vehicles at a cost of Rs 300 crore.
