Goethe-Institut/ Max Mueller Bhavan is hosting ‘Jumpstart 2014 – Let’s Play!’ on August 28, 9 am to 6 pm at Goethe-Institut/ Max Mueller Bhavan, Indiranagar.

This year’s edition features, among others, expert sessions with Ralph Möllers, German publisher and co-founder of Terzio, book2look.com, flipintu.com.

‘Jumpstart 2014’ will bring together experts from the books, media, education and creative industries to create a dialogue and explore the different facets of play and its intersections with storytelling, imagination, technology and reality that will translate into better content for children.

Ralph Möllers will explore solutions that he has created in collaboration with his development partners in
Mumbai.

The first, ‘book2look’, is a sophisticated widget solution that lets a reader sample, share, embed and rate books on the Internet.

The second, ‘Flipintu’is a unique e-commerce platform for paid content, books and articles that are currently being developed.

Initiated in 2009, Jumpstart began as a series of workshops and seminars mainly focused on writing and illustrating and marketing children’s books and libraries for children. It looks at ways in which writers, illustrators, artists, storytellers, filmmakers, gamers, coders, animators, designers, publishers, technology experts and adults in general, create games in diverse forms that enrich the lives of children, create content and books that encourage children explore and learn while playing.

Words and illustrations play on a page to create stories and experiences for the young reader.

Some books have games in them and some books are game-books. The many presentations, master-classes for writers and illustrators and the panel discussions, include many new aspects, in line with a highly dynamic and ever-changing children’s content space.

The lineup of speakers during the event include Ralph Möllers, Anshumani Ruddra, Asha Nehemiah, Nury Vittachi, and Sophie Benini Pietromarchi. For details, call 080-2520 5305/6 or visit: www.goethe.de/bangalore;  www.jumpstartfest.com
