JOIN USToothfairy is a home-based baking venture, which was started in 2013, by husband-wife duo Gourav Heranjal and Rashmi Srinath. Located in Kodichikkanhalli, it has a variety of cakes to offer like tea, sacher sponge, Oreo, blueberry cheesecake, cocktail cupcakes, banana and walnut, white chocolate and raspberry mousse cake, chocolate and blueberry cake, red velvet and other custom-made cakes to name a few. The cakes are soft and delicious with no added preservatives.
The place also has international breads and cookies to choose from. Rashmi gave up a corporate job to pursue her passion and has learnt baking from Lavonne Academy of Baking Science and Pastry Arts.
“Baking has always been my passion. But it was very challenging to pursue it full time since I was working in an MNC. Finally, I joined the course as I wanted to follow my passion. After completing the course, I started exploring the option of having my own brand and started off with Toothfairy,” says Rashmi.
Ask her about the unusual name of the place and she says, “I always found the story of toothfairy very amusing. That’s why I wanted to name the company that.” She adds, “We mainly focus on the quality of products. Our motto is ‘If we can’t eat it, we don’t serve it’.”
The place offers different flavours of buttercreams including Swiss and Italian. The Italian buttercream is extremely popular among customers.
Social media has helped Toothfairy get more orders. “Customers get in touch with us through Facebook or word-of-mouth and give in their specification and theme. We bake accordingly,” adds Rashmi.
While Rashmi does the baking, Gourav takes care of the delivery and stock maintenance. The prices range from Rs 800 to Rs 1500 but the cost varies depending on the theme of the cake. They also do home delivery. “At present, we operate out of home but in future, we want to open an outlet in a few months,” says Rashmi excitedly.
