A cultural bonanza

'BIAF'

AIM presents the seventh edition of Bengaluru International Arts Festival (BIAF) from September 5 to 21.

This year, BIAF has collaborated with various countries like The Netherlands, Sri Lanka, France, Suriname, Rwanda to perform for the Bangalore audience. Folk groups are flying in from Sri Lanka, Orissa, Gujarat and North East. 

The event will be coming to various auditoriums, galleries and public places across the City with the ‘Namma Metro’ being one of the prime venues.

On September 5 at 6.30 pm will be a fusion concert at Chowdiah Memorial Hall by Dr Suma Sudhindra, who will play the veena and Ned McGowan, who will be on Western flute. 

On September 6 at 5 pm, Rafiki will be presenting Vaclav Havel’s ‘Unveiling’ directed by Sachin Gurjale at National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), Palace Road. The artistes performing are Ravindra Vijay, Rency Philip and Sachin Gurjale.

‘Essentially Divine’, a vocal concert by Saashwathi Prabhu, will be held at 5 pm on September 7. Call 98452­27800 for more details.
