Talented youngster Arjun Maini claimed his third win of the season in the British Formula 4 BRDC championship with a fine drive under pressure at Brands Hatch.

The 16-year-old Arjun, on pole position, made a fine start before being pushed hard by Gaetano di Mauro in second and Struan Moore at third place.

The lead between Arjun and Gaetano kept fluctuating but the former showed good nerves to safeguard his position and score his third win.

Arjun’s result fetched him 81 points and coupled with a 12th place finish for Raoul Hyman, the Indian driver leapt upto second place in the standings, just nine points behind team-mate George Russell.

Delighted with his show, Arjun said: “It's been a great weekend for us with third, second and now a win, and I'm really happy to get the win after the mistake in race two.”

“It was quite an intense race as Gaetano applied a lot of pressure, and I couldn't back off at all. “I made a couple of small mistakes but managed to get my head down and take the win.”
