Hampers to pamper

Somdatta Sengupta kicked up a plush corporate job to start a venture on pet care through the online portal ‘TailsLoveGiftsToo’.

The portal features a variety of gift hampers for dogs and cats and has a number of toys and treats for the furry friends.

It was when the pressure of a corporate job got on to Somdatta that she decided to branch out into something unique. “I was in Europe at a ‘bed and breakfast’ place, when I saw a gift hamper being delivered to someone’s pet. The idea of gifting one’s pet came from there. I didn’t want to just have a franchise of a pet care shop, so this idea was just perfect,” says Somdatta. The name of the website is just as attractive as the offerings at the portal. “The name struck me when I was going through a pet blog and the team loved it so we decided to go with that name,” she says.

The purpose of the website is to enable genuine pet lovers to explore the joy of gifting their four-legged friends, says the young entrepreneur. She adds, “We keep an eye out for premium quality pet products.”

There are 24 hampers for dogs under themes like ‘Miss You’, ‘Love You’ and ‘Good Boy’ and there are a few with more hamper options like pet birthdays, pet adoption, travel hamper, spa hamper, ‘V-Day’ and more. The hampers consist of freshly baked treats and toys which vary from plush, squeaky and rubber ones to grooming accessories too. The website also has two hampers for cats.

“The whole idea revolves around making the special day for your four-legged friend extra special,” says Somdatta.

Customisation is one of the main features of ‘TailsLoveGiftsToo’. “One can combine options to create a special hamper too. If you want something specially marked or printed on the hamper, it is done accordingly,” states the owner.

Somdatta says that feedback and interaction with frequent customers have kept her spirit going. “I try my best to reach out to each customer on a personal level,” she says.

Her customers have only the best to share about the portal. Sangeetha CT, a regular customer says that the range of options and the quality offered is what is striking and keeps her wanting to go back.

She says, “My pet Candiee loved the hamper. The team makes an effort to make each hamper a special one. I own four dogs and I love gifting them on their birthdays and other occasions, and the portal has made each celebration a special one.” Somdatta herself makes suggestions, which adds to the experience.

Rajeshwari Ramachandran, another pet lover, says that it was a joy to see her pet Susie open the hampers she ordered from the site. “She loved every single toy in the hamper, but her favourite was a yellow octopus. The gift hamper is really well thought out and innovative,” says Rajeshwari.
