For the managers of tomorrow

'ARBITRIUM'

The department of commerce and management of Jyoti Nivas College Autonomous (JNC) held their two day inter-collegiate fest ‘Arbitrium 2014’ recently.

The event began with an inauguration ceremony involving the principal of JNC,
Sr Elizabeth, vice principals, head of the departments (HOD), faculty from
various streams and departments, along with the participants.

The chief guest for the event was the director of BMRCL, Vijay Kumar Dheer. Various reports of the department were read out by the member’s student’s union and HOD of commerce and management. He delivered a speech that motivated all the participants and congratulated the faculty and student’s union of the commerce and management department on their combined efforts to conduct the event on such a grand scale. The inauguration ended with a video made by the students that was a teaser for everyone present there to know what to expect from the next two days of the fest.  The principal then declared the event open and everyone proceeded for participation in the multiple events that were about happen.

Each competition was associated with an android application. For instance, the human resources (HR) event was associated with Whatsapp. The other competitions included best manager, business quiz, business article and moot court that had multiple rounds and was held across the two days. The campus was filled with energy the spirit of competition and enthusiasm thanks to the show.

The first-year students were really excited. Soumya, a first-year B.Com student, said, “I didn’t know how huge this fest really was when I initially heard of it. The effort gone into making this happen is amazing and the entire event has added to my memories of my first few months in college.” The event came to an end with the valedictory where all the prize winners from the different competitions were honoured.
