The fourth season of the show saw some of the brightest talents in the City come together.

The show was presented by Reliance Trends, India’s largest fashion destination. It was conceptualised by Mithilesh Nyathappa and emceed by Amar Prabhu. DJs Sachin and Bharath had the students grooving to some funky tunes.

Actors Raghu Mukherjee, Kriti Kharbanda and Radhika Pandit, model-turned-entrepreneur Carun Carumbiah and designer Paresh Lamba were the judges for the day.

Dressed in black and white vintage gowns, they interplayed the Shakespearean times with the future. Roshni, a model, said, “We wanted to do the Victorian times but with the present day twist, thereby making it a trend again. We used a lot of silk, brocade and cotton.”

The excited students of Vogue Institute of Fashion Technology came in second for their collection inspired by Rajnikanth. Stephin, a designer, said, “Rajnikanth is a trendsetter for lots of people and his style sense is very simple and authentic. We used Madras checks, paired them with denim and embroidered beads on them. We tried to keep the accessories to a minimum.”

Army Institute of Fashion and Design, who came third, were dressed in ethnic wear. Rohit, their designer, said, “We are bringing back glamour into small towns and for women in their 30s. We experimented with the accessories a lot and used fabrics like chiffon, organza and georgette. India is a fashionable country and you need to show its fashion, so we used colours of all kinds.”

The consolation prizes were won by Garden City College and Dayananda Sagar Institutions. The former walked in colourful jumpsuits that were laced with metal zips. And the latter wore a mix of crop tops, leggings and ‘saris’ that were embroidered with gold borders.

“Everytime I come back, I keep expecting more and I’m not disappointed. I always have loads of fun,” said Raghu. Kriti said, “You could see the effort that went in to each collection and I was floored by that. I wish I had this kind of exposure.”
