A transgender was killed on the spot after a fall from a running train behind Mantri Square on Wednesday afternoon. The victim is Mahadevi, 22.
According to the police, the incident took place at around 2 pm, soon after the Bangalore-Hubli Intercity Express train departed from the City Railway station.
Mahadevi was found to be troubling a few passengers on the train. They caught her and wanted to hand her over to the police. Suddenly, two persons intervened and picked a quarrel with her.
They pushed her out, before the train could reach the Malleswaram station. They sneaked into other coaches and got down at Tumkur, police said.
“We registered a case of unnatural death and shifted the body to Victoria Hospital for post mortem. Investigation is on to ascertain if Mahadevi fell down from the train or was pushed out,” said an official of the Railway police.
