ShoreTel aims to invest $25 million

Sunnyvale-based ShoreTel Inc, a provider of IP phone systems and unified communications solutions, aims to invest $25 million in India in next three to five years, a top company official said. 

The company also will open ShoreTel India in Bangalore on Friday, the first centre in India, as part of its expansion plan in Asia Pacific region. The office will provide sales, global support services, and research and development. S R Patil, Minister of IT, BT and Science & Technology will inaugurate the facility.

Next Spring

According to ShoreTel President and Chief Executive Officer Don Joos, “We will invest $25 million in India in next three to five years. The company has hired 100 employees, by next Spring we will hire 50 more.” The company has over 34,000 business customers serving over 3 lakh users worldwide.

ShoreTel India would leverage India’s world-class technical talent available in Bangalore to further its existing development and support services and for the development of next-generation products and solutions. 

“As the company’s growth continues, we are pleased to expand our investments at ShoreTel India. The engineering, sales and support team will be working closely with their counterparts around the world, to provide innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers worldwide,” Joos said.
