Tigress killed at Safari park

She was attacked by Vali, a male in same enclosure

The tigress, Tunga was attacked by Vali, a male in the same enclosure. She sustained grievous injuries on vital organs.  Speaking to media persons, Deputy Conservator of Forest Smitha Bijur informed that the tigress succumbed to intense bleeding and breathing problem.

The safari staff who went near the enclosure to feed the tigers on Sunday morning were shocked to see Tunga dead. The post-mortem was performed and the animal was cremated on Sunday.

The female tiger, which was born blind was maintaining bad health from past few days.

Even the food consumption of Tunga had come down. With the death of Tunga,the number of tigers in Tyavarekoppa safari has come down to 11, which includes six females and five males.
