During interrogation, Rajesh confessed that he liked to enact scenes from movies and this was one such attempt.

Couple held for theft

The Byatarayanapura police on Saturday arrested the son of a former BBMP deputy mayor and daughter of a head constable for theft of her family valuables.

According to police, the arrested have been identified as Vidyadhar (24), son of Lakshminarayan and a resident of Avalahalli, and Kavyashri (21), daughter of Krishnappa and resident of Deepanjali Nagar.

The police said that, on October 10, Kavyashri along with her father lodged a complaint with the Byatarayanapura police stating that two gold necklaces, three gold chains and cash were missing from their house. On inspection, the police did not find any evidence of any body attempting to enter the house. For the last couple of months, there were no visitors to the house, said the police.

When police questioned members of the house, Kavyashri spilled the beans and said she needed money because she was planning to marry Vidyadhar. The latter had pawned the jewellery.
