The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike on Saturday removed encroachment on a stormwater drain at Bhuvaneshwari Nagar near eighth mile under Dasarahalli zone.
Buildings had been constructed by encroaching 10,200 sq ft of the SWD and the Palike officials, with the help of local police, demolished the structures.
The demolition drive began at 9.30 am and continued till late in the evening. According to sources, sheds, an ayurvedic hospital, shops and a warehouse had come up on the SWD. The area in the vicinity was being flooded during rains due to the encroachment.
