You need not be born in Bangalore to love the City. Darshan and Tina Jadav, who hail from Gujarat, lived up North until they decided to move to Bangalore over a decade ago

.

Bangalore was their first and only choice when they decided to relocate. “We get positive vibes here. It feels good to live here and there’s always room for hope and one never feels intimidated,” says Darshan.

The couple has two children — Kush and Jahanvi Jadav — both in their early teens. “It’s difficult to get kids to do something you want them to  these days,” jokes Darshan. He feels the City offers some great opportunities not only for those exploring job options but for youngsters as well.

Tina and Darshan are into the hotel industry and have managed to carve a niche for themselves in a City, where you find a new restaurant springing up on every lane. The couple have faced their share of challenges when starting a new venture but they attribute their growth to the people in the City.

“Every business has its own challenges and we have had our share as well but nothing that can be termed as a problem. People are open to experimenting, trying out new things, and are supportive of any new business,” observes Tina.

The couple believe that the City throws up new challenges but none too taxing or insurmountable. “We’ve settled down here but even after all these years, it still feels like there’s so much more about the City that we haven’t seen or discovered as yet. This is the curiosity the City triggers,” they share.

There’s really no restaurant or pub that the family hasn’t visited or frequented. “We have our favourite joints in town where we go and don’t shy away from experimenting with new dishes,” says Tina.

And they usually hang out with a bunch of close friends, “We’re lucky to have friends from across cultures,” they add.

Like every Bangalorean, Darshan too thinks the traffic has almost doubled in the City and getting stuck in traffic jams isn’t the best thing to happen to anyone.

“Sadly, the traffic is increasing every day. We sometimes cancel our plans just thinking about the traffic. It’s upsetting to get stuck in traffic,” states Darshan. But all said and done, Tina thinks Bangalore is one of the best cities in the country and Darshan seconds her view.

Both Tina and Darshan work on a tight schedule, running between work, managing the house and their kids. But they make sure they don’t compromise when it comes to leading a healthy lifestyle. “We eat healthy and stick to a strict diet such as a heavy breakfast, light lunch and super light dinner,” they conclude.
