JOIN USA 50-year-old domestic help was allegedly murdered by her husband in a flat in Doddabanaswadi under the Ramamurthy Nagar police station limits on Tuesday. The suspect worked as a security guard at the apartment complex.
The deceased, Shanthi, had been living with her husband, Jagadish, in a small room in the flat for the last four years. Jagadish is an alcoholic. On Tuesday night, he came home drunk and pounced on her. He then slit her throat before smothering her with a pillow.
Later in the morning, he raised an alarm that somebody murdered his wife when he was away. The apartment dwellers called the police who questioned Jagadish but were not satisfied with his explanation.
They took him to the police station and interrogated him further. He reportedly confessed to the murder and the police arrested him. But police said they were yet to pinpoint the motive for murder.Labourer plunges to death
A 20-year-old construction labourer from Bihar plunged to death while relieving himself at an open space left for a lift at an under-construction apartment complex near Hope Farm under the Kadugodi police station limits on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Paswan.
