Wanted for a shootout between two rival gangs in north Delhi’s Sabzi Mandi earlier this year, a 24-year-old man has been arrested, police said on Sunday.

Two members of his rival gang had been killed in that incident.

The accused has been identified as Ravi Dhikka, a resident of north Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar. Police said Dhikka was nabbed after it was learnt that he would be coming near Rohini East Metro station to meet his associate.

A trap was accordingly laid and Dhikka was nabbed after he was spotted waiting for his associate near the Metro station.

“Interrogation of Dhikka revealed that he was wanted in the double murder case of Sonu Pehalwan and Rajeev alias Bunty, who were killed during a gun battle between two rival gangs,” police said.

Dhikka and his gang member killed them to take revenge and enhance their influence in the area and create terror among other criminals, said police.

On June 25, Pehalwan and Bunty were shot dead while their associates were injured at a birthday party near Subzi Mandi railway station.
