A 36-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested for duping a shopkeeper of Rs 16 lakh by presenting a cloned credit card after making purchases of Apple products. His accomplice from the same country is absconding.

Jimoh and Robert had visited a shop in Malviya Nagar a few days ago and made the purchases using a credit card. The shopkeeper was later told by the bank that the Rs 16 lakh could not be credited to his account as the card was cloned. The victim then approached police.

Police said 50 SIM cards, five forged passports, five i-Phones and five mobile phones were among several items recovered from Jimoh, police said in a release on Monday.
