He also told the students to email him, at apj@abdulkalam.com, a letter on how they would want to be remembered by the society and the winner would get a book signed by him.
Addressing a gathering, at the centenary celebrations of B K Mariyappa’s Charities, Kalam said, “The basic aim of humanity is to donate. You need to decide what you can give. The problem arises when we decide on how much we can take. People should learn from B K Mariyappa, who was a great visionary.
Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala said, “You can study anywhere but there are only a few places where you can get cultural values and educational institutes run by Mariyappa Group are doing commendable work in this regard.”
