Stay stylish this winter

HAUTE STYLE: Unusual cuts and colours
Last Updated 28 December 2014, 14:51 IST

There is neither boredom nor stagnancy in the designs of Paresh Lamba. His latest line of coats, jackets and tuxedos has been designed keeping in mind the changing tastes of young men and women.

Winter wear, Paresh believes, is all about layering. There is a youthful energy in his winter line. The rugged, the refined and the rebellious — all find place in Paresh’s wardrobe.

But no two jackets look alike, thanks to his exceptional craftsmanship and unusual cuts that instantly grab your attention.

This season, Paresh has worked around some exquisite designs for men and women. He points out that his design team has been working to dress women in warm and shaped garments, in a range of wool and wool-blend fabrics.

As far as men are concerned, Paresh suggests that they try shades of dark colour in a variety of winter fabrics like wool blend, tweed, felt, velvet and jute blend. “Jackets and coats are the ‘in thing’. Team them up with mufflers, scarfs, warm pants, waistcoats and bandis. Even hats are in fashion this season,” reasons Paresh.

Paresh has taken all efforts to give men and women a distinct look. Velvets find place in almost all his designs. “One of the finest offerings this season is a single breast tailor-made jacket in checkered velvet which has a classic black detailing on lapel and pockets,” he states. For women, there are a range of structured garments including smart-cut jackets, formal shirts, pants as well as skirts.

Adding a twist to the collection is the generous usage of additional production techniques to create a classic look. Paresh lays equal importance on cuts, designs and colours and this comes through in all his work.

“All the elements are given equal importance as our expertise lies in bespoke clothing. We look into the cuts, designs and colours which suit that particular client and the occasion that he wants to wear it for,” he states. And Paresh doesn’t forget to reiterate that accessories must complement the clothes.

“Good shoes are a must. Also, contrasting pocket squares are the new trend. Proper emphasis on ties and belts is also a must to get the right look,” When asked what accessories go well with winter wear, Paresh says one could team the outfits with mufflers, hats and leather shoes. “Complete the look with a smart watch and a pair of glasses,” he signs off.
